Well, its just a little while since my last post and a lot has happened.

We have had the lovely Linda Steele come and talk to us about VicQuilters Showcase and her wonderful creations as well.
Kat Jones has come and run her workshop. Everyone had a wonderful time. Kat sent an email thanking us for a wonderful day and extolling the class members for their creativity and enthusiasm. She follows NOTYQ on facebook and can't wait to see all the finished pieces posted there. So get cracking ladies!

So whats happening next? Soup and Rolls day is on Saturday June 16. If you feel like making Soup please put your name on the Roster in the Day book or let Sue Adams or one of the committee know.

Our guest speaker that day is Cathy Barbagallo from the "Modern Quilt Guild" discussing "What is a Modern Quilt?". Should be an interesting discussion.

Finally bookings are now being taken for the Indigo Shibori Workshop on SUNDAY July 22nd - go to the Upcoming Guests and Tutors tab to complete your booking form (and don't forget to pay as well!). This is a unique opportunity so don't miss it.

Also if you have a burning desire to keep this blog more up to date, please let me or someone on the committee know.

KAT JONES IS COMING!

On Saturday May 19 Kat is coming to run a class for us and we need you to get your bookings in as Kat is coming from Tasmania. I have done the class and it was a great class- so much fun and I learned such great techniques. If you were at the last Guild meeting on Thursday, the work that Robyn and I did was displayed.

The SCISSORMAN is coming to the next Guild meeting as well so look for details in the next newsletter.

Veronique Diligent was a lovely lady giving us information about the Applique Guild who are an on-line Guild but have local "Chapters" one of which is in Eltham!

Well our February Guild meeting started our meeting year with a bang. Carol brought her Pop-Up shop "Sewn and Quilted" with many treasures; and gave a delightful talk and trunk show on how she got into patch working and running a shop.
Many of us found ourselves unable to resist the temptation of a purchase at her shop. Carol also runs many classes. To find out more look at the website  www.sewnandquilted.com.au , ring 9877-1664 or visit the shop at 92 Whitehorse Rd, Blackburn between 10-4 from Tues-Sat.

The January workshop in ice-dying was a great success - some great clothes are being worn, one large piece has been used as quilt backing, and there are some other beautiful pieces floating around. There have been murmurs that members want yet another "dye-along"!

Looking ahead to our March Guild meeting on Thursday 15th March, we have as Guest Speaker, Veronique Diligent from the Applique Guild. As well as representing the Applique Guild, Veronique, as you may expect, does amazing applique work. One of her quilts is hanging in The Quilt Shop Eltham (it's the Chook Quilt). She will be teaching classes both there and at Sewn and Quilted.
We will also be having a Pop-Up shop from Bustles and Bows in Warrandyte.
